Codex Code is a book art exhibition curated by Wok The Rock and organized by Kedai Kebun Forum.

For some people, writing a book usually is considered as special and exclusive work, so that it takes long time to work on, and need economical strength which is interfered by convoluted social status. The common manuscript, which is well-known by human being in general, is diary. Because of its personal and sensitive characteristics, diary is rarely to be published. But, diary has a very high historical value when the owner is pass-away.

Information technology and graphic, which are increasingly thrive nowadays, certainly have a very strong influence in producing a book. Software and PDF format, which are developed by Adobe, weblog, ‘on-demand’ printing machine, and also the binding technique that can be ordered per unit, give easiness for everybody who wants to produce a book by themselves, easily and cheaply.

This exhibition invites some artists, designers, writers, researchers, music lovers, curators, and also bloggers to make a book. The book here is as the medium of expressing art, the same with videos, poems, or paintings. The book could be manuscript only in one copy or more.
